The presence of such poor quality diets can lead many to assuming that all quick weight loss diets are purely gimmick oriented. Really, that is not the case as several diets that promote rapid weight loss do deliver the results the claim.

While it is certainly not the healthiest diet in the world, the Atkin's Low Carb Diet can most definitely help you shed weight in a fairly quick amount of time. The lack of sugars in the body when taking part in this diet promotes rapid weight loss rather effectively.

One of the odder stranger quick weight loss diets ever developed was the banana diet that helped Hitoshi Watanabe drop 37lbs.This diet entailed eating banana, water and milk for breakfast. Lunch and dinner were pretty much left open in terms of what you are allowed to eat. Some criticized this plan as a fad diet and I would have a tough time disagreeing with such an assessment.

However, I cannot ignore the successful weight loss benefits of the diet either. When something works, you really should not ignore it or dismiss its value.

Fiber and Vitamins

One reason that the banana diet worked is because banana are rich in fiber and vitamins. They are low in sugar (and zero processed sugar) and, of course, contain no animal fat. A banana is but one type of food item that is mainly fiber and vitamins. The Raw Food Diet is one that follows the same approach. The same can be said of the Caveman Diet. Of course, vegetarian and vegan diets are also loaded with fiber and vitamins. Hence, they are more likely to effectively deliver on weight loss potential.

Calorie Restriction

One thing that needs to be seriously mentioned when it comes to the issue of quick weight loss diets is to avoid diets that promote massive calorie restriction. Yes, you will drop weight for the short term but such faddish crash diets will make you gain it back later.

After all, you will certainly be starving after several days of massive calorie reductions. Worst of all, when you do start eating again you will probably binge out of massive hunger leading to equally massive weight gain. Does that sound like a proper plan to follow? Hardly!

A Basic Plan
