A Word on the Top Fat Burners

Upon asking people what they consider the top fat burners to be, I will often hear a litany of responses mentioning various stimulant based weight loss supplements. Such supplements have been popular on the nutritional circuit for many years and for good reason - it is possible to see great results.

However, such products may come with adverse reactions. Additionally, you could probably burn off a lot of fat without them. Yes, there are common diet and exercise programs that can be considered the top fat burners. Why is this? It is because they are able to work in harmony with the body's metabolism to burn off scores of calories.

Fat Burning Food

When the subject of fat burning food is raised, many will assume that such a concept is dubious. After all, how can you have food that will magically melt off a great deal of excess weight? Basically, there is no magic here. Rather, there are certain foods that can burn off fat better than others.

Remember, when your body digests food it must draw upon calories to expend such energy. If you were to eat a low grade cut of red meat that was high in fat, you might burn 75 calories digesting it. The problem is that you would be left with 900 calories from the meat! (Or, rather, you would be left with calories from the fat in the meat).

Now, if you were to eat lean chicken breast and burned 75 calories, you might be left with 120 calories. That is a significant reduction in the amount of calories left in the system. This process would be repeated with game meat, lean red meat, deep water fish, and poultry. Personally, I stick with poultry and fish as red meat - lean or otherwise - is not my favorite choice for losing weight.

Of course, there are fruits and vegetables that will aid in burning up a lot of fat. Citrus fruit can have a thermogenic effect on the body. Leafy green vegetables can have a similar effect since they clear the body out of dangerous free radicals. The antioxidant impact on such toxins has the welcome side effect of boosting the metabolism significantly. And any food items high in fiber can support metabolic function quite well.

Exercises as the Top Fat Burners

Those interested in exercises that serve as the top fat burners, here is some news: any cardio exercise program you would perform at low to mid to high intensity will burn fat UNLESS you take the intensity level up so high you are burning muscle. HEED THIS ADVICE: Such training - known as anaerobic training - can be dangerous.

As such, you should perform your cardio work (any cardio work) at lower intensity levels than anaerobic. Keep in mind, however, low intensity (walking eg) will burn fewer calories than mid-level intensity (jogging eg) but it will burn calories. So, there is really no cardio exercise that is unhelpful.

And here is something I never paid attention to but now realize its value as one of the top fat burners: lifting weights. When you lift weights, you engage the metabolism in many ways long after the weight lifting session is over. As a result, progressive resistance weight training remains one of the all-time best fat burning exercises to engage in.
