Healthy Eating Food Choices

Here is my advice about diets: you do not want to eat a selection of food items solely for the purpose of losing weight. You need to select food items that improve your health.

When I would (unwisely) venture into the realm of fad diets, I would end up becoming physically worn out and generally blah in my overall disposition. Again, this is due to not eating high quality food. To help you out here, I am listing the ten best healthy eating food.

Lean Protein: The inclusion of lean protein is an absolute must if you wish to eat healthier diet that promotes weight loss. Protein aids in building muscle and muscle aids in burning calories. So again, add lean protein to your diet.

Low Fat Oil: Do you cook food in fatty oils? If so, you will need to switch the fatty oils and replace it with low fat variants such as olive oil. This will reduce the amount of calories and cholesterol in your diet.

Fruits: Fruit is a must when you want to improve your healthy. In fact, it could be considered among the most helpful of all healthy eating food. Why is this? Fruit is loaded with vitamins and nutrients and can aid digestion. Just be a little wary of the sugar content and don't overdo things.  

Vegetables: How could anyone compile a list of healthy eating food without mentioning vegetables? Vegetables, like fruit, are packed with vitamins, nutrients, and fiber. Serving of vegetables with meals or meals completely comprised of vegetables can improve health dramatically. Really, there are a lot of amazing antioxidants in such servings and that is a huge plus for the human body.  

Whole Grains: Some may be really 'down' on carbohydrates, but it is the refined and processed carbs that are villainous. Carbs in the form of whole grains do not really promote much in terms of weight gain and do promote a great deal of health improvements to the body. These grains are loaded with fiber which keeps you full while stabilizing blood sugar.   

Cold Water Fish: Such fish are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, which are a must for anyone wishing to improve heart health. Actually, there are even many more benefits such fatty acids provide which is why two meals per week of cold-water fish such as salmon would be a wise move.  

Nuts: Nuts are another source of healthy fats that aid in boosting the metabolism and helping the body in many ways. Just be sure that you purchase organic nuts. I am not thrilled with processed nuts loaded with sodium and other 'add-ons' designed to extend their shelf life.   

Steamed Food: Okay - this is not a type of food. It is a way food is cooked. When you steam food on a wok or other such steaming device, you eliminate the unhealthy processes known to undermine healthy eating food.   

Raw Food: No, I am not talking about raw meat! I mean you might wish to eat your vegetables and grains raw since this will increase their ability to deliver healthy nutrients.
